Why SEO?
SEO. It’s what I do (UPDATE: It’s what I did entirely, now I do a LOT more too).
It’s Search Engine Optimization. Fancy acronym that means in Kyle’s terms: “to make a website more search engine friendly with the intent of increasing a targeted user base.”
No, I do not increase rankings nor should you trust any SEO firm or professional that claims likewise. Rankings are a natural byproduct of a website that is well structured, well linked, well developed, etc. All I promise, when I’m discussing a project, is to make a site appeal to search engine bots – more. The more a search engine likes a site, the more references a search engine finds to a site on the web, the more that engine is going to like the site in question. Hence the line at the top of every page “Relevance + Importance = Success.” You get the picture. It’s a process, not a result.

And of course, you can overdo it. You can spam anything, email, webpages, packaged meat product, all of it. It’s an artful technological service that has taken me about 9 years to learn but I am by no means an “expert.” There aren’t any of those either, really, because the industry is constantly growing, shifting, moving in new directions so who is an expert today can be a dolt the next. That’s why I claim to be a “SEO Professional Student.”
If you’ve got questions about SEO or your website, I suggest checking the SEO category of my posts (as they’re sure to grow) or Google’s Webmaster Help Forum. 99% of what I know and learn, I’ve picked up from trusted/knowledgeable blogs and forums. You’ve got to put in some time and research to learn what to do and what not to do even before you get started working on your website.
Additionally, I’ve managed countless dollars in SEM revenue as well (Search Engine Marketing). I’ve helped people turn the “fire-hose” of targeted traffic on in ways that have saved them a LOT of money and gotten them a LOT more site visitors for far lower costs per visitor. Imagine getting people to your site in a matter of hours, and doing it at a rate that is 1/2 what you’re used to spending – welcome to the World of Kyle.
Basically, I take what I do personally and enjoy achieving goals that customers and co-workers never thought possible. I’m a firm believer that if someone says “good luck” when it comes to a project or goal, I respond with “I don’t need it” – and I go about planning a winning strategy. Am I smarter than everyone? Not hardly. Do I out-work everyone? Every single time. I learned at a very young age that you can work hard enough to do anything and that mantra I apply to my career. Consider me passionate about my work.
